From a piano bench at age four to a studio in Los Angeles.
I sat down at the piano at four and something clicked. By my teens I'd picked up guitar, started writing songs, and was spending every free minute making music.
I went to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and studied Open Music Studies, with concentrations in Piano and Music Technology. The Daily Illini wrote about me playing piano around campus, and that's honestly why I chose a music degree. It showed me that familiar songs turn piano from a private discipline into something people gather around. I graduated in May 2020 with a BA.
Along the way I founded Renaissauce Records as a home for production and collaboration. I taught through Guitar Center from 2017 to 2024, in Champaign and then Palmdale, with kids, adults, beginners and returning players. Then I went independent.
After graduation I moved to Los Angeles. Now I produce, mix, master, and teach full-time, on my own. I still learn something new most days, and I get to help other people find their sound.
