Who this is for
Adults starting from zero. Adults coming back after years away. Adults who got stuck on an app and want a person.
What we work on
Chords, songs, rhythm, getting the two hands to cooperate, the theory you'll actually use, ear training, and the nerve to sit down and play.
Why adults do well
Adults pick up patterns fast when the patterns live inside music they love. Abstract assignments slow everyone down.
- Start with music you can hear and play
- Build technique around what you want to play
- Leave every lesson knowing what to practice
- Use the intro to pick where to start
Choose the path that matches your goal.
Never Played Before
Start from zero. Nobody is grading you.

Creative Adult
Use piano to write songs, find chords, and say something.
Learn the piano by making music from the start
Every lesson starts with the music you want to play and whatever is in the way. Maybe we simplify the chords. Maybe we split the hands, or slow the rhythm down, or tie a theory idea to the song. You walk out knowing what to listen for and what to practice.
Play first
Your hands are on the keys early. I explain technique and theory when you need them, not before.
Work in small pieces
A hard passage turns into a few small motions. It stops being a wall of notes.
Use your questions
Bring the chord, the song, the reading problem, or the hand thing that confused you all week.
You do not need talent, perfect rhythm, or a childhood head start
Most adults walk in worried about something. Small hands. Can't read music. Forgot everything. Too busy. Those are all normal places to start. None of them is a reason to skip the piano.
I fit the music to your reach and coordination. Reading grows alongside the chords and songs. If you're coming back after years away, we keep what still feels familiar and rebuild the rest. You're not starting from nothing, and I won't pretend you are.
A patient starting point
- You don't have to perform or prove anything
- No kids' method book unless it actually helps
- Nobody expects both hands to work together on day one
- Ask the same question twice. That's fine.
Short, focused practice can move the music forward
You don't need an hour a day. Three or four sessions of 15 to 25 minutes go a long way when each one has a job. For a week, that might be one section of a song, one hand pattern, and one thing to listen for.
Repeat less, listen more
Catch where the rhythm slips or your hands tense up. Fix that spot. Don't restart the whole song.
Keep the goal visible
Your practice stays tied to a song or a sound you actually want. That's the reason to sit down.
Adjust busy weeks
When work or family takes over, we shrink the plan and keep the habit alive. A rough week isn't a failure.
Choose the format that helps you stay consistent
The $20 intro can be at my Los Angeles studio or over Zoom. Tell me which when you book. We talk about what you want to play, and you get to see how I teach before you pick a regular format.
Online means you learn on the same instrument you practice on, and you skip a drive across LA. In person suits people who like sharing a room and seeing hands up close. The studio is near Fairfax and Melrose, next to West Hollywood.
For an online lesson
- A piano or keyboard you can practice on
- A phone, tablet, or laptop set up so I can see your hands
- A song, a recording, or a short list of goals
- A notebook or notes app for the practice plan
Who the $20 intro lesson suits
Book it if you are curious but lost, back after a long break, torn between online and LA, or stuck after an app or videos. Bring your questions and any music you want to talk about. We'll find a starting point and figure out together whether regular lessons make sense.
Common questions
Am I too old to start piano?
No. Adult beginners are common. We build the lessons around progress you can hear.
Do I need to practice every day?
Not every day. Consistency helps, but we plan around the practice time you really have.
Can adults learn online?
Yes. Online adult piano lessons work well. You learn on your own instrument at home.
