Music production lessons in a Los Angeles studio

A practical alternative to production school

You don't need a giant certificate program to finish songs. Private lessons go straight at the problems in your songs, one at a time.

What we work on

Your DAW, recording, MIDI, arrangement, picking sounds, editing, rough mixing, export settings, and getting an idea all the way to release.

Who this is for

Songwriters, artists, producers, and beginners with ideas in their head who need the tech, and the judgment calls, to get them out.

  • We start with music you can actually hear and use
  • Technique gets built around what you want to play
  • You leave every lesson knowing what's next
  • The intro is where we pick your path

Choose the path that matches your goal.

Voice Memo to Session

Start from a rough idea and build a real project.

Learn Any DAW By Doing

Ableton, Logic, FL Studio, GarageBand, or whatever you already run.

Finish Your First Track

Make the calls that keep the song moving.

Production references that make lessons concrete

Artists you love make a good map. We use their sound to talk about arrangement, recording choices, texture, and what release-ready actually means.

Billie Eilish

Small arrangements, stacked vocals, and production that sits right next to your ear.

Olivia Rodrigo

Songs first, with production that goes from quiet heartbreak to huge moments and back.

Laufey

Warm arrangements, jazz-pop chords, and songwriter production with a lot of polish.

Coldplay

Piano-driven builds, big atmosphere, and arrangements that rise like a film score.

In person at my LA studio, or live online

Lessons happen in person at my studio in Los Angeles, near Fairfax and Melrose next to West Hollywood. The $20 intro can be in person too; just tell me when you book. Not in LA? Same one-on-one lessons, live over Zoom with screen sharing anywhere in the United States, inside your own session, at the same price: $40 for 30 minutes or $60 for an hour. Want a specific program? See DAW lessons for Ableton, FL Studio, Logic Pro, Pro Tools, and Reaper, or songwriting lessons.

Common questions

Do you only teach Ableton?

No. Ableton is my main DAW, but I also teach Logic, FL Studio, GarageBand, and the habits that carry across all of them.

Do I need expensive gear?

No. We start with the gear you have and only add something when it earns its spot.

Can lessons happen in the studio?

Yes. If you're local, production lessons can happen in the studio when it makes sense.
